Sandy Griffin is a studio potter and painter based in Port Clinton, Ohio. She recently relocated to Port Clinton after selling the Toledo-based Logistics Business she owned and managed for over 25 years. Her new retirement has given her the freedom to pursue and explore her art.

In addition to two associate degrees from Owens Community College majoring in Business Management and Marketing and Sales (1983), Sandy attended the University of Toledo majoring in Art as well as Bowling Green University studying Ceramics with American ceramic artist and sculpture John Balistreri.

Sandy’s passion for art started at a very young age and peaked during high school with great motivation from her art teacher Debra Torres who helped her with the basic structure and focus on ceramics.

Today Sandy makes pottery that brings bright colors, sophisticated shapes, and happy vibes to the everyday items we all use, along with unique artistic forms and collaborations. She has a diverse range of influences and seeks to marry Mid-Century Modern design with utility of everyday needed items. Such diversity combined with her own personality as a painter and a potter culminates into a unique style. Simple forms, refined patterns, and lively colors that convey designs that are robust and joyful.
