Master Watercolorist Bobbie Dorr Exhibits and Teaches at The Arts Garage in June!

"Through My Eyes" an exhibit and sale of master watercolorist Bobbie Dorr's paintings will be on display from Thursday May 23 until Sunday June 30, 2024, at The Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry Street in Port Clinton, Ohio. A reception, open to the public, will be held on Saturday June 8 from 5-8pm. Dorr fell in love with art after being especially drawn to a painting by Robert Laesig. His specialty was sunflowers and cobwebs. As well as sunflowers, Dorr's specialty is the grace and eye-popping beauty of poppies. As a watercolor teacher, Dorr has made friends for life. "I love my students. We're a family. Some of my students have been taking from me for ten years," shares Dorr. She feels the classes are "me time" for her students, where the joy of learning and supporting each other is unmistakable. The Arts Garage is fortunate to be able to offer classes by Dorr, who studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Dorr's watercolor classes will be held June 17, 10am-12:30pm (Rose Buds); June 18, 6-8pm (Water Cans); June 19, 6-8pm (Country Barn); and June 20, 10am-12:30pm (Lady in Red.) Dorr's step-by-step teaching style promises students will leave with a painting they will be proud to share. In addition, The Arts Garage currently offers classes in needle felting for children and adults. Children who live in Ottawa County may take children's classes at no cost, but must be accompanied by an adult. Interested persons can register at www.gpcaac.org. The Arts Garage is open Thursday through Sunday from 11am-4pm.
