Mark your calendars for an evening of music and conversation from a local jack-of-all-trades in the musical world!
This month's "Evening Out with Art" will be held on Monday May 9, 2022 at 6pm at The Arts Garage, located at 317 W. Perry Street in downtown Port Clinton.
The evening will feature Michael Shirtz, a jazz performer, composer, conductor and recording artist from Sandusky.
Shirtz began his musical career while in high school fronting small house bands to leading variations of big bands and jazz combos, including the Michael Shirtz Quartet.
Today Shirtz performs with the Michael Shirtz Quartet as well as developing educational programs in jazz and American music in schools and communities.
He serves as the conductor of the Symphony Chorale with the Firelands Symphony and continues to compose and write music for various projects.
