GoFundMe started for #GivingTuesday!

This year, as part of “Giving Tuesday,” the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is humbly asking for your support! Please consider a contribution to our capital campaign and help us reach a single-day goal of $10,000!

The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council, or GPCAAC, believes the arts should be available to everyone. GPCAAC believes the arts are not frivolous; that they are essential to the human creative spirit.& The arts need to be nurtured, as they contribute to the economic well-being and aesthetic enhancement of our community.

Since its founding in 2009, GPCAAC has strived to promote the arts and artists in Ottawa County and organize programming and events, which fosters a vibrant community through the arts that enriches Ottawa County residents and businesses.& Through our projects - Art Walks, craft shows, pop up exhibits and more - the GPCAAC has helped transform the county’s art scene and helped it flourish.

In January 2021, the GPCAAC furthered its mission by entering into an agreement with the City of Port Clinton to lease the City’s former maintenance garage at 317 W. Perry St.&&This agreement and collaboration with the city brought to fruition a dream to have a home and an area for artists and creators, events and programming. GPCAAC named its new home The Arts Garage (TAG).

The journey has been a good one.

Less than two years later, TAG is home to more than 20 working resident artists, as well as significant gallery space and room for groups, events, classes, and programming. GPCAAC is a completely volunteer-driven organization and has already hosted more than 7,000 visitors and logged thousands of volunteer hours.

GPCAAC’s mission and programs are a success and continue to be, because of your commitment in support of our community.

Today, fund-raising for renovations are at the forefront. Our plans for the TAG building include new windows, a raised-level floor, new garage doors, handicap accessibility and updated electrical components. These changes will bring this nearly century-old building into the 21st Century.

Started in 2012, “Giving Tuesday” is an opportunity for people from all over the world to give to organizations, causes and activists who are pushing for change. It is a movement that has spread around the world, inspiring people to volunteer and donate for causes close to their hearts.

We know that through your amazing support in the past, our mission and TAG are near and dear to your hearts, and we hope you will consider giving to the GPCAAC during this important Day of Giving.

Please help us reach our goal!
