What's Happening at TAG this week!




We’ve got a jam-packed week of activities at The Arts Garage in Port Clinton this week, so here’s a round-up of what’s going on!

Monday May 1 – We have Pastels class with Alice Holly at 6pm. Cost is $20 per adult, FREE for Ottawa County students. Sign up on our website at www.gpcaac.org under the “Classes” tab.

Thursday May 4 – Things are switching around a little for Figure Drawing this month, as class will take place on some evenings. This week’s session led by Keith Fleming will be held at 6pm at TAG. Cost is $5 per person, which will be paid to our model for their time. Please note that some evening sessions will feature a model au natural. Also please bring your own supplies, but an easel will be provided.

Friday May 5 – Larchmere Fireworks, based in Cleveland, are hosting classes at TAG on irregular weekends beginning in May. Join in at a set time between 11:30am until 6:30pm, where you will work one-on-one with the blacksmith to forge a spiral air plant holder. Your project will take 15-20 minutes and will be coated in bees wax to preserve the metal. You will get to pick out an air plant from a variety. Cost is $50 per person (No sharing anvil time) and tickets can be purchased on the Larchmere website at www.larchmerefireworks.com. Once you purchase tickets, you will be contacted to set up a time. Text to see time availability before buying tickets. Limited space available so booking ahead is advised.

Also taking place on Friday is a pottery bird feeder making class with Jeanette Oleksa at 2pm. Cost is $40 per person and you can sign up on the GPCAAC website at www.gpcaac.org. All clay and tools will be provided, come make some magic!

Saturday May 6 – Larchmere Fireworks will be at TAG between 11:30am and 6:30pm. Please visit the Larchmere website for more information, www.larchmerefireworks.com.

ALSO happening on Saturday is our Local Author’s Fair, in collaboration with Ida Rupp Public Library, starting at 1:30pm. Come meet a handful of authors, browse their works and purchase some books to support northwest Ohio area authors. This event is FREE and open to all!

Sunday May 7 – Larchmere Fireworks will be here from 11:30am until 6:30pm, come make a spiral air plant holder. Cost is $50 per person. Sign up on the Larchmere website for a time.

Sunday also has another pottery class making flower plaques with Jeanette Oleksa at 2pm. Cost is $40 per person and tickets can be purchased at www.gpcaac.org.

And just a friendly reminder that our newest exhibit “Feather to Frame” is on display now, so come see all the beautiful birds! Nearly 100 incredible works from artists detailing migratory and native birds are on exhibit.

TAG hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 11am until 4pm, or by appointment.

The Arts Garage, home of the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council, is located in the city’s old maintenance garage at 317 W. Perry Street in Port Clinton, Ohio.
